Erin Cassidy co-founded the biz with a friend, and their focus was social media strategy for artists. When the partnership amicably dissolved, Erin wanted to keep ArtSocial as a blog, and made some money with sponsored posts even though her numbers were low. With an eye on leaving her torturous day job, she kept posting and realized theres something here. Not one to ignore her instincts, she took a Photoshop class which led her to the Alt Summit conference which led her to Tiffany Han which led her to creating Tiffanys blog images. And that? That led to the ArtSocial you see now, with Erin as a web and graphic designer with a months-long waiting list. What you dont necessarily see online is her quitting her dream job and forging a new identity, her untraditional schooling, her trial-and-error on finding her right clients and offerings, and the feeling she had of being terrified at making a career from something she never made money from before.
